You don't need formal culinary education to join Flavoury. We welcome chefs with professional experience, culinary school graduates, and passionate home cooks with demonstrable skills. What matters most is your ability to create delicious food and provide an exceptional dining experience.

After creating your profile, you can set your availability in the calendar. Mark which days and times you're available to accept bookings. You'll only receive booking requests during your specified available times, and you can always update your availability as needed.

You have complete freedom to set your own prices based on your experience, menu offerings, and local market rates. Most Flavoury chefs charge between $250-$500 per booking, depending on the number of guests, menu complexity, and service duration. Our platform provides pricing guidance to help you maximize your earnings.

You'll typically use the kitchen equipment available at the guest's home. However, you can bring your own specialty tools or knives if preferred. You're responsible for bringing all ingredients unless otherwise arranged with the guest. You can specify any special equipment needs in your profile so guests are aware before booking.

Guests pay through our secure platform when they book your services. After you complete the booking, the payment (minus our 15% service fee) is released to your account. You can set up direct deposits to receive weekly payouts to your bank account. All tips from guests go directly to you with no deductions.

Our cancellation policy protects both chefs and guests. If a guest cancels more than 48 hours before the booking, you won't receive payment. For cancellations within 48 hours, you'll receive 50% of the booking fee. If a guest cancels within 24 hours, you'll receive 75% of the booking fee to compensate for your time and ingredients purchased.

While not required to join, we strongly recommend that all chefs have their own liability insurance. Flavoury provides limited liability coverage for all bookings made through our platform, but having your own insurance provides additional protection. We can recommend affordable insurance options specifically for private chefs.

When a guest books your services, they'll provide information about any dietary restrictions or allergies. You can communicate directly with the guest through our messaging system to discuss menu adjustments. You can also specify in your profile which dietary restrictions you can accommodate (vegan, gluten-free, etc.).
